Progress of the Nata project in Guangdong
The project is located to the west of Petrochemical Avenue and to the south of West District South Road in Jieyang Dananhai Petrochemical Industrial Zone, Huilai County, Jieyang City, Guangdong Province. It has completed multiple infrastructure construction works by Montai High-Tech and its wholly-owned subsidiary - Guangdong Nata Functional Fiber Co., LTD.
At present, the project has completed the project filing, land use planning permit, land property right certificate, as well as stability assessment, safety assessment, energy assessment, environmental assessment and other procedures. The first phase of the project has obtained the engineering planning permit and construction permit. The fence, construction roads, temporary water and electricity supply, and temporary facilities such as the project department within the red line of the project have been completed and meet the construction needs. The civil engineering construction in the factory front area has been completed by more than 60%, and some individual buildings have been capped.
The company has completed the detailed project investigation, site leveling, water and electricity connection works during the construction period, temporary roads to meet the transportation needs of the construction, temporary facilities for the project department, parking lot, and rainwater connection to the municipal pipeline in front of the factory. The construction of the pile foundation and the factory area fence has been completed. The main structure of the finished product warehouse and the staff canteen has been capped, and the main structure of the office building is expected to be capped in the near future.
This project has an annual production capacity of 10,000 tons of carbon fiber and 60,000 tons of differentiated acrylic fiber, with a total investment of 4.795 billion yuan. It covers an area of approximately 466 mu and includes production lines and supporting facilities. The completion of this project will fill the gap in carbon fiber production in South China and provide a stable supply of materials for downstream enterprises. After completion, it will rely on acrylonitrile, an intermediate product of the Jilin Chemical ABS project, as raw material to produce differentiated acrylic fibers, providing high-quality materials for downstream carbon fiber production enterprises in the province.
Progress of the Nata Project in Gansu Province
The first 10,000-ton carbon fiber project in Gansu Province - the 10,000-ton carbon fiber construction project of Gansu Nata New Materials Co., LTD. - received the good news of its commencement in September 2024. This project is invested and constructed by Gansu Nata New Materials Co., Ltd. and jointly promoted and implemented by Shanghai Electric Wind Power Group Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Montai High-Tech Fiber Co., LTD.
As the first 10,000-ton carbon fiber production base in Gansu Province, by May 2025, the construction progress of the first phase of the Gansu Nata project is as follows: the main structure of the comprehensive building has been completed, and the foundation works of the carbonization workshop have been finished. The installation of the steel structure for the 10,000-ton carbon fiber production line has entered the final bolt tightening stage.
The total investment of this project is 2.76 billion yuan. After its full completion, it will produce 25,000 tons of carbon fiber annually, with an estimated output value of 2.16 billion yuan. The carbon fiber produced by this project will be widely used in multiple high-end manufacturing fields such as aerospace, automotive manufacturing, and wind turbine blades. At the same time, it will fill the gap in the large-scale production of high-end carbon fiber in Gansu Province. It will drive the aggregation of upstream and downstream supporting enterprises and gradually form a complete industrial chain of "raw silk - carbon silk - composite materials".
